EPR Textile France

In 2014, the French Environmental Code R.543-172 to R.543-206 translated the EU WEEE Directive into national law, clarifying the recycling requirements for electronic and electrical products sold in France.
In fact, in France in 1975 defined the Responsabilite elargie des producteurs (REP), requiring producers to be responsible for the recycling of waste produced by their products.

The French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) is the head of waste recycling, which has established the SYDEREP (SYsteme DEclaratif des filieres REP, the extended producer liability statement system) to implement waste furniture, scrap electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), household packaging, waste batteries and batteries (PA), waste paper, fluoridated gas (GF), old tires (PU) and scrap vehicles (ELV)

When selling textiles in France, the textile environmental protection agency confirmed that all textile sellers have to report sales to the authorities' ecological organization. Currently, there is no minimum requirement of parts sold. In other words, all sellers selling textiles will need to register their own textile EPR numbers.

Do I need to Register?

If you manufacture, sell or import textile products into the French market, then according to art. R. 541-10-1 11° you must register with Textile EPR Provider. This obligation also applies to non-French producers when selling directly to end users. Textiles include clothing, shoes as well as home textiles, e.g. curtains and bed linen. Moreover, if you are an Amazon seller, as of 1st of January 2022 it is also an Amazon Seller Central requirement for all vendors selling goods that fall under French EPR to register with and EPR Service Provider. France requires a yearly quantity declaration submitted by all sellers, importers or manufacturers of textiles.
