UAE VAT Information

UAE VAT Information

UAE VAT Rate: 5%, Our VAT registration timescale is around 1-2 weeks

VAT in UAE was introduced on the 1st Jan 2018.  UAE Local Company  VAT registration threshold:

  • Mandatory VAT registration is ADE37500                                                         

  • Voluntary VAT registration is ADE187500

 

Foreign entities must be registered for VAT at 1st sales, within 30days. Failure to do so will result in late VAT registration Penalty AED: 10000. If an entities sales remain below VAT threshold for 12 months, it must be deregister the VAT number, otherwise, there will be a late De-registration penalty:  AED10000

 

UAE VAT return filing is quarterly.  The deadline for the VAT return filing is at the quarter end of the 28th day of the subsequent month.

  • VAT Late filing penalties: 1st time fine AED1000,  2nd time in 24 months fine:  AED2000

  • VAT late payment penalties: 2% of  VAT amount within 7days;  4% of  VAT amount After 7days; 1% every day increase for unpaid VAT amount, up to 300% ( from 30days)

VAT Payment:  VAT payment can be sent directly to FTA (UAE federal tax authority).

Each company have its own GBN Number for VAT payment.
